Terms of Service.
The terms that govern your use of ismee during the research preview. Please read them.
Last updated: 7 July 2026
1. These terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you (and, where you sign up on behalf of an organisation, that organisation) and the operator of ismee.ai ("ismee", "we", "us"), governing your use of the ismee website, help centre and product (the "Service"). ismee.ai is currently operated as a research preview; a formal legal entity is being established, and its registered company name and address will be added to these Terms before general availability. By creating a workspace or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Who can use ismee
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- If you use ismee for an organisation, you confirm you're authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf, and "you" includes that organisation.
- New workspaces are reviewed and approved by us before they can be used; we may decline or revoke access at our discretion during the preview.
3. Your account and workspace
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your login credentials secure; you're responsible for activity under your account.
- If you invite others into your workspace, you're responsible for their access and for ensuring they use the Service in line with these Terms.
- Tell us promptly via our contact form if you suspect any unauthorised use.
4. Your content
You (or your organisation) keep ownership of the knowledge, documents and content you upload ("Your Content"). You grant us a licence to host, store, process and display Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service for you.
You are responsible for Your Content. By uploading it you confirm that you have the right to do so, that it's lawful, and that doing so doesn't breach anyone's rights or any obligation you owe. Please don't upload content you're not entitled to share, or special-category / highly sensitive personal data unless you have a proper basis and safeguards for doing so.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service unlawfully, or to infringe others' rights;
- upload malware, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other workspaces or other users' data;
- probe, scan, disrupt or overload the Service, or bypass its security or usage limits;
- reverse-engineer or copy the Service, except to the extent the law allows;
- use the Service to generate unlawful, harmful, deceptive or abusive content, or to build a competing product.
6. AI-generated answers — important
ismee uses AI to generate answers from your knowledge. Answers may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. A human stays accountable: you are responsible for reviewing and deciding how to act on any answer. The Service does not provide legal, financial, medical or other professional advice, and answers should not be relied on as such. Always verify anything important before acting on it.
7. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (including our AI provider, hosting, storage and email providers — see our Privacy Policy). Their availability and terms are outside our control, and we're not responsible for their acts or omissions.
8. Availability and "as is"
During the research preview the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will always be preserved — please keep your own copies of important content.
9. Our intellectual property
The Service, and all software, branding and content we provide (excluding Your Content), belong to us or our licensors. These Terms don't transfer any of our intellectual property to you beyond the right to use the Service under these Terms.
10. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill; and our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited — during the free preview, our aggregate liability is limited to £100. Business users: we exclude the implied terms and conditions that the law allows us to exclude.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service and ask us to close your workspace at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, to protect the Service or other users, or on ending the preview. On termination, your right to use the Service stops; we'll handle your data as set out in the Privacy Policy.
12. Data protection
We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Where we process personal data on your organisation's behalf, a Data Processing Agreement is available to customers on request.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the product develops. We'll update the date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law where you live provides otherwise.
